Coronavirus Updates & Patient Impacts

5/04 COVID-19 Update

Following Florida Governor Ron Desantis’s recent announcement lifting the ban on elective medical procedures, our offices will be re-opening at our regular office hours starting on Monday, May 11th. Beginning on 5/11 we will resume surgeries for patients that were already scheduled, and begin rescheduling cancelled cases for our patients with the following precautions still in place:

  • All patients will be tested for COVID-19 72 hours prior to their surgery. Patients who test negative may proceed with their surgery - those who test positive will have to reschedule for a later date. *We will coordinate with each patient to determine the timing and location of their pre-surgery COVID-19 test.

  • Patients will have their temperature checked at the door before being allowed into the building for appointment check-in.

  • Once checked in for their appointment, we are asking that patients wait in their car until they are called in.

  • Social distancing measure will be strictly adhered to in all areas of the office.

  • All doctors and staff will be wearing masks at all time, and patients are strongly encouraged to bring a mask of their own to wear at all times during their appointment.

  • We will be adhering to strict cleaning practices between each patient.

3/12 COVID-19 Update

As concerns about coronavirus continue to grow and the number of cases in Florida rises, we’ve made the difficult decision to alter our business operations temporarily in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff, our doctors, and our patients.

Effective 3/16, our office has made the following changes in response to the COVID-19 crisis:

  • All elective surgery has been cancelled for patient protection and to conserve our resources.

  • Endoscopy and trans nasal procedure are on hold indefinitely

  • We will continue seeing patients that have cancer, tumors, or intractable pain that surgery can fix.

    • For these cases, we are taking additional steps to ensure we maintain the highest level of cleanliness in between each appointment time. Patients will check in and wait in their car until they are ready to be seen.

  • Our offices will be open with minimal staff to handle our emergency patients, obtain medical records, etc.

    • If you need to contact us, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. There may be a short delay as compared to our normal turn around times. Thank you for your patience!

Please note that while we are currently unable to provide any in-office patient evaluations, we recommend that new patients call and leave a message expressing their interest in scheduling an appointment once our offices are back up and running again so we can begin the process of obtaining your medical records. This will help expedite the scheduling process once we are able to continue with in-office appointments, at which point we will contact you.

We understand that these are times of uncertainty and frustration for many of you, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult waters. Please rest assured that we are closely monitoring the guidelines from the CDC and will continue to update you on our latest policy changes as the situation evolves. We hope that our patients will stay healthy, stay safe, and try to make the best of this time. We are here for anything that you need!
