Tampa Bay Reflux Center To Re-Open On Monday, May 11th

In March we made the difficult decision to cancel all elective procedures and place all endoscopy and trans nasal procedures on hold due to concerns with COVID-19. While we remained open in a limited capacity for patients that had cancer, tumors or intractable pain that surgery could fix, we had paused all other services including in-office evaluations.

Over the past two months we’ve been keeping a close eye on the evolving COVID-19 situation here in Florida, and we are happy to provide the following update for our patients.

Following Florida Governor Ron Desantis’s recent announcement lifting the ban on elective medical procedures, our offices will be re-opening at our regular office hours starting on Monday, May 11th

Beginning on 5/11 we will resume surgeries for patients that were already scheduled, and begin rescheduling cancelled cases for our patients with the following precautions still in place:

  • All patients will be tested for COVID-19 72 hours prior to their surgery. Patients who test negative may proceed with their surgery - those who test positive will have to reschedule for a later date. *We will coordinate with each patient to determine the timing and location of their pre-surgery COVID-19 test.

  • Patients will have their temperature checked at the door before being allowed into the building for appointment check-in.

  • Once checked in for their appointment, we are asking that patients wait in their car until they are called in.

  • Social distancing measures will be strictly adhered to in all areas of the office.

  • All doctors and staff will be wearing masks at all times, and patients are strongly encouraged to bring a mask of their own to wear at all times during their appointment.

  • We will be adhering to strict cleaning practices between each patient.

Patient safety has and will always be our top priority. While we are remaining incredibly cautious, we are thrilled to be able to provide the life-changing medical care and treatment that so many of our patients depend on to manage their conditions and improve their quality of life. If you are a patient who previously had a scheduled appointment cancelled or postponed, you can contact our office to re-schedule for May! Thank you for bearing with us during this difficult time.
